Decision Making Support Systems
IS faculty conduct research on information systems that support the decision making process including decision support systems (DSS), executive information systems (EIS), artificially intelligent systems (AIS), and integrated combinations of these systems. While individual standalone systems support particular phases of the decision making process, none support effectively. Integrated systems alleviate these support deficiencies, but different integration approaches have both advantages and disadvantages. By investigating these advantages and disadvantages, our faculty facilitate the design, develop, and implement of more effective, robust, decision making support systems.
