STUDY INFORMATION SYSTEMS ABROAD IN IRELAND:

The UMBC/National University of Ireland Direct Student Exchange Program for Information Systems B.S. Majors

The Department of Information Systems (IS) and the National University of Ireland (NUI) offer an optional one-semester student foreign exchange program for Information Systems undergraduates. The student exchange at NUI is open to IS students enrolled in UMBC’s B.S. program with a junior class standing or higher and with approval from the department’s Director of Undergraduate Programs.

The program, NUI’s only reciprocal IS program exchange in the United States, offers IS undergraduates exposure to more global aspects of information systems and the career opportunities that can result from these experiences. Located in Galway, Ireland, NUI is an international university with a reputation in Information Technology and Business disciplines.

UMBC students will be able to apply for studies abroad at NUI for fall semesters. For more information on courses offered through the program and specific requirements, please email Tate Redding, Director of Undergraduate Programs at redding@umbc.edu.

Students seeking additional information about study abroad opportunities may also obtain more information by contacting Brian Souders, Assistant Director of UMBC’s Study Abroad Office at souders@umbc.edu.

The deadline for fall 2008 semester applications is March 15, 2008s.
